Referral Terms

How we honor graduates who bring new people into the work — in plain language.

Graduates are invited — never pressured — to bring new people into the work they know and love. When someone you invite joins, we honor you for it. These are the plain-language terms. They sit alongside the Community Covenant, especially the agreement on no coercive recruiting: rewards are a thank-you for genuine invitation, not a sales quota.

There are two ways to be honored, depending on what someone joins.

1. Referring into the 12-month training ($2,000)

When you guide a new student into the BreathingGod 12-month training — the path to becoming a facilitator — you’re honored with a generous referral reward:

  • 20% of the training as your reward, paid across two milestones — part when they enroll, the rest when they reach their first milestone — so referrals stay aligned with real, lasting starts.
  • Referring someone into 1:1 or group sessions is honored at 10%.
  • A 10% set-aside continues to fund the Community Care Fund, which keeps the work accessible to those who need support (spending approved by Kashi & Congo jointly).

Richer, milestone-tied structures for active facilitators are being finalized on the facilitator rate card, alongside our legal and tax review — we always confirm your exact reward with you before any payout.

Note: the training is not open for enrollment yet. Right now, referral links point to the waitlist for the next cohort. You can start sharing the waitlist today.

2. Referring directly into the Alumni Circle

When you welcome someone new directly into the Circle as a member, you receive:

  • 30% of that new member’s first 6 months of dues.

For example, on a monthly membership at $33/month, that’s 30% of six months of dues as your reward, accruing as those dues are actually paid. The reward follows real, paid membership — it is not paid in advance.

How tracking works

  • You’ll receive a unique referral code (like FIRSTNAME-BREATH) and a matching link. Your QR code carries the link; the printed code sits beneath it for when you invite someone in person — both credit you.
  • Everything resolves to one first step: /begin (“Begin with the breath”). Your code applies as /begin?ref=YOUR-CODE.
  • Credit follows the first code used and is held for a window (currently 6 months) — so even if someone joins weeks later, you’re still thanked. Self-referrals and referrals of an existing or recently-lapsed member don’t qualify.

Timing, no-refunds, and good faith

  • All dues and program payments are non-refundable. Members may cancel future renewals at any time. Because there are no refunds, milestones exist mainly to protect against very quick drop-outs and to keep referrals honest.
  • If a referred member’s payment is reversed or charged back, the related reward is reversed.
  • Rewards are paid on a regular cycle after each milestone is met. Exact payout dates and method are confirmed when the program goes live.

A note on taxes

Referral rewards are income to you. In the U.S., once you’re paid $600 or more in a year, we’ll need a W-9 on file and will issue a 1099. This isn’t tax advice — please keep your own records and check with an accountant. We’d rather name this now than surprise you later.

The spirit of it

These rewards exist so that growth is generous and shared. But the Circle grows on trust. Invite people because the work would serve them. If a payout is ever the reason — pause. That’s the line this covenant draws.
